bravora2026@gmail.comSeoul Insadong & Ikseondong: Top 3 Jeon (Korean Savory Pancake) Restaurants

MONDAY · REVIEW-BASED SHORTLIST
Hi, I’m JO PIGGY. Souvenirs go in the bag; crisp pancakes go in your stomach. Clear travel logistics—until ‘just one piece’ proves to be an optimistic forecast.
Jeon pan-fries vegetables, seafood or other ingredients in batter or an egg coating. Think savory companion, not dessert pancake. These three restaurants also serve soup or shabu-shabu, so share a pancake and build a meal around it.
Three places to consider
1. Insadong Hangari Sujebi
Sujebi leads the name, yet seafood scallion pancakes appear repeatedly in visitor accounts. A generous pancake and warm soup let crunch fans and broth fans share one peaceful table.
What Korean bloggers said
Imaka liked a crisp edge, moist center and plentiful seafood in the pajeon. Spicy sujebi brought a lively broth and thicker dough for a filling meal. The writer repeatedly enjoyed makgeolli, pancakes and soup in the friendly alley setting.Read original review
Alice found one soup and one seafood pancake ample for two people. A thick crisp pancake, oyster sujebi and fresh kimchi appealed. The old-fashioned atmosphere and fast food service accompanied several return visits.Read original review
Horangi especially liked a thick pancake crisp even in the middle. Sujebi, fresh-tasting kimchi and dongdongju joined the meal. The restaurant had earned visits over years, though one weekend evening involved about a 10–20-minute wait.Read original review

2. Insa Shabu Jeong
Individual shabu-shabu pots are the main meal; cabbage jeon is a separate sharing dish. Visitors praise crisp pancakes, a comfortable hanok and friendly staff. Cook at your own pace, share fairly, negotiate only over the final piece.

3. Insadong Cheongchun Sujebi
Visitors like nutty crisp pajeon, a relaxed hanok room and helpful explanations. Vegan options help mixed-preference groups share a table, but the whole menu is not vegan. Specify the version you need.
What Korean bloggers said
Mins found the vegan scallion pancake crisp, chewy and aromatic. Cold soybean noodles, vegan black-bean noodles and optional vegan kimchi were welcome companions. With regular and vegan dishes both available, the writer stressed identifying the vegan order clearly.Read original review
Lime Tree visited with children in 2023 and liked the shrimp pajeon with sujebi. The children were less keen on its abundant scallions. Clean surroundings and kind service appealed, and a drink came through a review event.Read original review
Sui Jaema’s oyster pancake was lightly crisp outside and moist inside alongside dough soup and noodles. Sujebi felt mild and comfortable, with ordinary dough thickness. This was an easy group meal; oyster pancakes were a menu item at that visit, not a promise of current availability.Read original review

One last bite
Seafood pancake and soup at Hangari, cabbage jeon and personal hot pots at Insa Shabu Jeong, or vegan choices at Cheongchun: bring walking shoes and a willingness to share the final piece. No more elaborate equipment required.
These are meal stops with jeon, not three pancake-only specialists or a definitive ranking. Five full posts and four public Place excerpts informed the Korean draft. Sponsorship and review-event benefits are disclosed above. Older menus, prices and hours are not current guarantees.
